SC Man Arrested In Cocke County For Drugs

While patrolling Sunday along Wilton Springs Road in Cocke County, deputy Alison Brooks spotted a vehicle next to the Seven Springs Market that looked like it had been wrecked and was missing a front tire. Brooks found a man sitting in the passenger seat who stated he was the driver and he had lost his tire. The man was identified as 30 year old Rodney Pearson of Spartanburg, SC. When asked if someone was coming to help him, Pearson told deputy Brooks the person on the other end of the radio was coming to get him. Pearson also stated that he thought he was on Interstate 85 in Georgia. Brooks gave Pearson sobriety tests that he failed and he was taken into custody. Upon searching the vehicle, .67 grams of methamphetamine along with a glass narcotics pipe in the center console of the vehicle. Pearson was found to have a suspended license out of South Carolina.
