Cosby Man Arrested For Drugs In Front Of Church

A Cosby man was arrested after he was found stumbling around in front of a church. Cocke County police spotted 47 year old Mark Houge stumbling around in front of the English Creek Baptist Church on Bogard Road. There was a red pickup truck in the parking lot with front end damage. Houge told deputy Joshua Boyce that someone had cut him off on Cosby Hwy. When asked if he had hit something he stated he had not, but according to Houge’s father who was spoken to later, the truck did not have damage earlier in the day. Houge was asked for his license but had trouble thumbing through his wallet, dropping it at one time but still trying to thumb through it. Boyce searched Houge and found bottle containing 1.9 grams of heroin. Houge has been charged with possession of schedule I narcotics.
