Hawkins County Man Sold Marijuana In Camper Shared With Children
A Hawkins County man is in jail after police found him selling marijuana out of his camper…with several children inside. Hawkins County deputies went to the camper parked along Highway 11W Wednesday morning to do a welfare check on some children. Deputies looked through a window and say three children sleeping upright on a couch with trash all over. Deputies were let inside the camper by one of the five children. That is when deputies came into contact with 32 year old Joshua Hinkle who was in possession of marijuana and admitted he sold marijuana out of the camper and smoked it in the presence of the children. Deputies also found that Hinkle, who was a convicted felon, was armed with a handgun…which is a felony. The serial number on the gun had been ground off. In addition to the weapons charge, Hinkle has been charged with schedule VI possession, simple possession of a schedule I drug and maintaining a dwelling where drugs are sold. The five children were placed into the custody of a relative.
