Police Called To Newport Medical Center Unruly Patient

Police were called to the Newport Medical Center Wednesday evening in reference to an unruly patient. Hospital staff told officers the 38 year old Benjamin Schmitt had been cussing the security officer and nurses…taking them away from paying attention to other patients. At one Schmitt became irate and threw a cup of his urine on a nurse plus put a hole in the wall of a bathroom. Due to his actions, Schmitt was medically released and taken into police custody charged with assaults and vandalism.
