Woman Taken Into Custody For Disorderly Conduct
Wednesday afternoon Newport Police officer Josh Schults was sitting in traffic on Cosby Highway next to the Kenjo Market, when he observed a woman run out into the roadway and start beating on a car’s windows and engaging in threatening behavior…endangering herself and others in the middle of traffic. Shults quickly took the woman, 59 year old Pamela Lawson into custody. On the way to the Cocke County Jail, Lawson began telling officer Shults that the people in the car she was beating on had given her son drugs…she then stated how someone was messing with her phone and they had placed an app on her phone to control it. Lawson also claimed that someone had come into her room a few days ago and pulled a knife on her. Lawson was booked into jail for disorderly conduct.
