Routine Traffic Stop Leads To Arrrest
Cocke County police pulled over a vehicle on New Cave Church Road over the weekend. A routine traffic stop turned into a drug arrest. Deputy Randy Forbes smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle belonging to 31 year old Jeffrey Strange. Strange admitted to having two joints in the car’s ashtray. A search of the vehicle also found a black box that contained 9.6 grams of marijuana, plus 5.4 grams of methamphetamine. Also found was .4 grams of suspected crack cocaine. Strange was arrested and charged with possession of schedule I, possession of schedule VI and possession with intent to sell of schedule II.
