“Operation Dry Water” In Force Over The Holiday Weekend
The TWRA is reporting that this year’s “Operation Dry Water” netted over two dozen arrests for boating under the influence. TWRA officers were out in force over the 4th of July holiday weekend on Tennessee’s waterways looking for those operating vessels while under the influence. 25 people were arrested statewide for BUI…which has the same penalties as DUI. The TWRA also reports they responded to one death over the weekend…that of a juvenile in Decatur County in Wests Tennessee who died in a boating accident. Boating officers also responded to two serious injury incidents as well as eight property damage incidents. Two minors were injured on Fort Loudon Lake near Concord Park in Knoxville when they struck an anchored pontoon boat while riding on a water tube that was being pulled by a boat.
