Newport Police Respond To Assault

Newport police were called to the Relax Inn in reference to an assault that had taken place. A 42 year old woman told police that she had been assaulted by 56 year old Roy Blair. Police watched video footage of Blair standing in the doorway of a motel room and being asked to leave by the victim. The video showed Blair grabbing the female from behind and putting her in a stranglehold. Both Blair and the female had conflicting stories of who originally was the primary aggressor. Both parties refused to press charges against each other. They were both given instructions of how to obtain orders of protection against the other.
