Woman Arrested For Possession Of Narcotics
Police arrested a 53 year old woman in the parking lot of Food City East Friday night. Police were called about a possibly intoxicated woman stumbling and dancing in the parking lot. Police were told the woman got in a black Ford Explorer with a child. The responding officer, Paul Weber arrived and pulled his patrol car in behind the Explorer. At the wheel was Susan Daruna, who was holding a cosmetic case she then tossed under the driver’s seat. Ms. Daruna failed field sobriety tests and her vehicle was searched. The cosmetic case contained 1.3 grams of suspected cocaine. A further search found Oxycodone, Suboxone and Gabapentin pills that Daruna had no prescription for. She admitted to officer Weber that she uses cocaine and the other drugs. She was taken into custody, charged with possession of schedule I, II ,III & V narcotics. The child was placed into the custody of a relative.
