Rocky Flats Area Fire Caused By Human Behavior
We now know that the fire that destroyed over 170 acres in the Rocky Flats area of Sevier County was caused by Human Behavior. After an investigation, Perrin Anderson, the Sevier County Assistant Mayor for Governmental Affairs, says that fire was indeed caused by non-permitted debris burning. That fire was first reported on Saturday and jumped into the Ball Hallow area of Cocke County as well. Two rental cabins were evacuated in the area Sunday afternoon. The Tennessee Division of Forestry says the fire eventually claimed 177 acres. Officials in Sevier County say that the individual responsible for that fire has been cited by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Crime Unit.
