Courthouse Back To Normal After Bomb Threat
The Cocke County Courthouse is back to normal after an eventful time Thursday morning. Shortly before 9am, someone called a bomb threat into 911 regarding the Cocke County Courthouse. The building was evacuated, and people were advised to avoid that area. The building was searched by the Jefferson County K-9 unit along with help from the Newport Fire and Police departments, Sheriff CJ Ball also thanked the ATF and Homeland Security for their assistance. Shortly after 10am, the building was cleared and everyone was able to return. The bomb threat is under investigation and the Sheriff’s department will be charging whoever was responsible.
