Fee-Free Day In GSMNP Saturday
National Park week runs from April 22-April 30. To commemorate, April 22 is Fee Free day in the nation’s national parks, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is taking part. On April 22nd visitors to the park will not have to purchase or display a parking tag. The Smokies parking tag program went into effect on March 1st. It requires all vehicles parked longer than 15 minutes anywhere in the park to display a valid parking tag. But, April 22, you can park in the park for free.
National Park Week is an annual celebration that encourages people to discover the places, programs, experiences, and stories of the National Park Service. There will be three more fee-free days in the smokies this year…those dates are August 4th, September 23rd, and Veterans Day on November 11th.
