Juveniles Aim Paint Ball Gun At Pedestrians
Newport police were called to the Wal-Mart parking lot Sunday night about two juveniles aiming a paint ball gun at pedestrians in that area. A witness pointed out a blue Kia Soul with two juvenile males. As the officer approached in his patrol car, the juveniles backed over a curb and drove from the Wal-Mart parking lot into the Tidal Wave Auto Spa lot. The two then pulled into the entrance of the car wash ay in an attempt to get away, but officer Justin Vinson followed. The boys, both 16 years of age then stopped. The driver admitted that there was a pint ball gun in the vehicle which was later found to be a Splatter Ball Gel Gun as well as an entire large container of extra splatter balls ammo. Both juveniles were detained and their parents called. They were released to their parents. The driver was charged with disorderly conduct. The passenger, who was pointing the paint gun out the window at people was charged with assault. both will appear in juvenile court on May 2.
