Newport police responded to Wal-Mart this week about a vehicle parked too long in the fire lane. The responding officer observed the driver and a rear passenger sleeping while the vehicle was running. A glass pipe could be seen in the front storage area near the driver and plastic baggies that appeared to contain narcotics were near the rear passenger. That rear passenger was identified as 31 year old Lisa Ball. A baggie of marijuana was at her feet and a baggie that containing methamphetamine was next to her. Upon searching the vehicle, officers located plastic baggies that contained heroin. In total, police found approx. 10 grams of methamphetamine, 3 plastic baggies and 3 papers folded up that contained approximately 5 grams of heroin, and approximately 3 grams of marijuana. Ball admitted that all the drugs were hers. She has been charged with sale and delivery of schedule I & II narcotics and possession of marijuana.
