Parrottsville Man Refuses To Become Victim Of Scam

Here’s something to watch out for…another scam. Pat Monaghan of Parrottsville told the Cocke County Sheriff’s office on Tuesday that he had received a call stating that he had missed jury duty and there was an arrest warrant issued for him in Cocke County. Monagham says the caller then told him that he would have to pay 10% of $60,000 to make bail and asked for a credit card number for payment. Fortunately for him, he suspected it was a scam and he refused. He then did the correct thing and notified authorities.
