Football Coach Pleads Guilty To Statutory Rape In Greene County
A former volunteer youth football coach in Greene County was in court Tuesday. 44 year old Myranda Stevens plead guilty to five counts of aggravated statutory rape in a case involving her inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old boy. According to investigators, while Stevens was a volunteer coach with the Greeneville/Greene County Youth Football Association in August and September of 2022, she developed an intimate relationship with one of the juvenile football players. The Greene County sheriff’s office then opened an investigation in January of 2023 to look into the matter. The Greene County court sentenced her to serve a mandatory 180 days in jail, then she will be eligible to be released. She was then sentenced to two years for each of the five counts, giving her a total of 10 years. However, she may be able to serve those 10 years on probation.
