Fatal Shooting in Rutledge

TBI investigators were on the scene of a fatal shooting in Rutledge in Grainger County Saturday morning. Both Bean Station and Rutledge police responded to a call of a man firing shots inside a home on Rocky Branch Road in Rutledge. Upon responding officers came in contact with the suspect, 52 year old Robbie Leigh Hodge. A confrontation ensued between Hodge and the officers leading an officer from Bean Station and Rutledge to discharge their weapons..striking Hodge and killing him. He was pronounced dead at the scene…no officers were injured in that exchange. the TBI is currently investigating that shooting.
