AAA And Gas Buddy Say Gas Prices Will Continue To Rise
A pain that almost everyone has right now…is the pain at the pump and the injury it does to your bank account. According to the AAA and Gas Buddy, don’t expect relief anytime soon. AAA says that the average price for gas in the US has now hit $4 a gallon. That means gas prices are just 10 cents lower than the all-time high average price of $4.10 a gallon set back in the summer of 2008. This time last year the average price was $2.76 a gallon…and before that back in December of 2020, gas prices were below the $2 dollar mark here in Tennessee. Estimates from Gas Buddy show that the US will more than likely shatter the gas price record this summer…as Gas Buddy predicts the average price could go as high as $4.62 a gallon by August. Consumers in California are already seeing prices over $5…and that is throughout the state.
Prices are getting close to the $4 mark here in Cocke County, as prices near the interstate are as high as $3.99.
