Accident On West Broadway Injures One

One person was injured after a two vehicle accident on West Broadway in Newport Thursday afternoon. Teresa Bennett of Newport told police she was driving westbound on west Broadway approaching the intersection with McCabe Ave, when a vehicle driven by Roy Fine of Newport, who was traveling eastbound, attempted to turn left onto McCabe and turned right in her path. Fine told police that he did not see Bennett’s vehicle when he turned and caused the accident. Teresa Bennett’s vehicle when he turned and caused the accident. Teresa Bennett was transported to the Newport Medical Center for a possible injury. Neither Fine nor the passenger in Bennett’s vehicle were hurt in that crash. Fine was issued a citation for failing to yield the right of way.
