Altercation Over Drugs Sends Woman To Hospital

An argument over meth sent a Cocke County woman to the hospital earlier this week. The victim stated that she got into an altercation with her boyfriend, becaus she refused to give him methamphetamine. She says 31 year old Adam Lewellyn of Del Rio became extremely angry and grabbed her by the hair on the back of her head and then began to hit her. When she attempted to get away, he chased her, grabbbing her by the throat and tried choking her and while she was on the ground started kicking her.

Police spoke with the victim at the Newport Medical Center and saw fresh hand marks on her throat, plus bruising on her stomach, hips and both arms. The victim also had swelling on the right cheek from bring ”back handed”. Adam Lewellyn was not found, but a warrant has now been issued for his arrest for Aggravated Domestic Assault.
