Another Cocke County EBT Card Used In NYC

Over the last several weeks, numerous Cocke County residents have had their EBT cards used without their knowledge. The problem is, the cards have been used out of state…namely in New York. We can now add another EBT card to the list. Maureen Bruce of Newport tried to use her EBT card earlier this week and was told there was no money on it. Rixie Ballard, a caretaker for Ms. Bruce says they found that the EBT card had been used in the amount of $137.00 at King Market in Brooklyn, New York on June 19th. Ballard stated that two other individuals live in the home with Bruce, but she and the victim are the only ones that have access to the card. There have now been around a half a dozen instances of Cocke County residents having their EBT cards used without their knowledge, mainly in boroughs of New York like the Bronx and Brooklyn. One EBT card number was used in Buffalo, NY earlier this month.
