Bail Bondsman Nearly Run Over By Suspect
Two bail bondsmen were put in harms way Monday evening after they tried to apprehend a suspect. Christopher Williams and Brian Green told Cocke County deputies that they were trying to apprehend 32 year old Billy Paul McMahan at a home on Union Hill Road. When they arrived a man identified as Leslie McMahan ran out of the house, trying to escape on foot. At the same time, a Honda Odyssey driven by Billy McMahan drove towards bondsman Brian Green. Green jumped out of the way but was hit by the van in the leg. The van then collided with Christopher Williams’ vehicle and fled the scene.
Deputies captured Leslie McMahan who confirmed that Billy was the one in the van who fled.
