Bleeding Man Charged With Assault
Newport police responded to a report of two males and two females that were fighting in the area of New Cave Church Road and Texas Way Wednesday evening. Several people at the scene told Officer Jordan Douglas that a man had been badly injured and could bleed out if he was not found. Officer Douglas then followed a trail of blood which led him to Cosby Hwy and the Family Inn. At the same time, Officer Paul Weber was flagged down by someone at Ruby Tuesday’s saying that a man was bleeding inside the restaurant. Officers entered and found 33-year-old Bradley Parks with a major round to his arm. A tourniquet was applied by Officer Weber to help control the bleeding until EMS arrived and transported Parks to the Newport Medical Center. Parks was then airlifted to another undisclosed hospital.
An investigation later found that Parks had earlier shown up at a residence where he got into an argument with the mother of his child. During that argument, witnesses say that Parks put his arm through a window, creating a squirting wound. Police say their investigation has led them to take out warrants against Bradley Parks for domestic assault and vandalism.
