Busted Windshield Leads To Two Arrests
A busted windshield led to the arrest of two people Tuesday night. Deputy Randy Forbes of the Cocke County sheriff’s office spotted a vehicle traveling on Cosby Hwy with a busted front windshield. He conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of English Mountain Road and Shale Road. At the wheel was 40 year old Amanda Fain of Newport. The passenger showed the deputy an ID with the name of Gary Milton Stelly…but after some questioning…the passenger admitted his real identity was Garrett R. Gibson…who just happened to have outstanding warrants out of both Sevier and Hamblen counties. A search of the vehicle yielded several syringes, a digital scale and needle caps…plus a set of brass knuckles. Both Fain and Gibson were placed under arrest and transported to the Cocke County jail.
