Bybee Man Charged With Evading Arrest

A man is in jail this morning after taking both Cocke County and Newport police on a chase Monday. The sheriff’s department had been on the lookout for 36 year old Thomas Livesay of Bybee. He was reportedly spotted at a residence on Hahn Way, but was gone by the time the sheriff’s department arrived. Newport Police were contacted to be on the lookout for the vehicle Livesay was in. Newport police spotted Livesay on Industrial Road where they pursued him to West Talley Hollow Road where they terminated their pursuit. Cocke County picked Livesay back up on Highway 160 where he was finally pulled over. Livesay had to be forcefully removed from the vehicle and was constantly reaching for his waistband. Livesay suffered some small cuts and abrasions during that struggle. He was checked out by EMS and then transported to jail charged with evading arrest.
