Carson Newman Group Leaves Jerusalem
The students, staff and faculty from Carson Newman University are now out of Israel, but are still far from home. The group was in Israel for an archaeology dig when the US and Israel commenced strikes against Iran. Those strikes led to airports closing down across the Middle East, leaving the students from the university in Jefferson County stranded in Jerusalem. The group has now made their way to Egypt, but they are still trying to formulate a plan to get back to East Tennessee. There is no timetable as to when the students and faculty could be back home.
