City Of Newport Looking To Hire Police Officer

Starting today, the Newport Civil Service Board is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer for the city of Newport. Applicants need to be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or the equivalent plus have a valid TN Driver’s License. You also need to supply a copy of discharge if you are a military veteran. If P.O.S.T. Certified, provide copy of certification and provide a copy of birth certificate. Incomplete application packets will be disqualified from consideration.The board says POST certification is a plus. Application packets may be picked up at Newport Police Dept at 330 E. Main Street or online at the www.cityofnewport-tn.com. Completed packets must be turned into the Newport Police Department by no later than 4:30 pm on Friday, June 30th.
