“Click It Or Ticket”
The Tennessee Highway Safety Office is partnering with local law enforcement agencies on the “click it or ticket” campaign to get Tennessee drivers to wear their seatbelts. Now through June 6th, participating law enforcement agencies will be increasing their effort towards seat belt law compliance. According to TITAN…Tennessee’s Integrated Traffic Analysis Network…403 people killed in highway accidents last year in Tennessee were not wearing a seatbelt…a percentage of 33% of all the state’s traffic fatalities. According to numbers from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in 2019, there were nearly 9500 people killed in the United States in traffic accidents that were not wearing their seatbelt…many of those could have survived had they been buckled in…so buckle up.
