Cocke Co Spared Brunt Of Sunday Storms
Storms rolled through East Tennessee Sunday night leaving destruction in some counties in their wake. In Crossville on the Cumberland Plateau, the National Weather Service is looking into a possible tornado there after a funnel cloud was seen. Some of the storms that rolled through to our north and west featured strong winds and hail. One storm actually was reported to include ping pong ball size hail. That storm went through parts of Anderson Knox and Union County. The storms knocked out power for some in Cocke County. As of Monday morning, Newport Utilities is reporting 74 customers are without power as of this morning. Most of those due to downed tree limbs.
