Cocke County Man With Warrants Arrested

A man wanted in Cocke County is now in custody, but also faces more charges. A deputy spotted 35 year old Joseph Collins getting out of a vehicle at Lanes Market off Cosby Hwy south of Newport. Collins was known to have multiple warrants for his arrest. The driver of the vehicle stated he had just given Collins a ride and allowed a search of his vehicle. In the passenger side where Collins had been sitting was a blue bag that contained digital scales, several small baggies consistent with selling illegal narcotics and about 1 gram of meth. Collins admitted the bag belonged to him. During a search of his person, law enforcement found Collins to be in possession of $1,815 in cash. He is now charged with possession of meth plus possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell.
