Cocke County Rec Department Trucks Damaged
Thursday police were called to the Cocke County Recreation Department after it was discovered someone had been rummaging through some of the recreation department’s trucks. Recreation Department Director Scottie Thornton told police he reviewed video surveillance footage and saw two subjects on the property around 1 am May 27. Thornton also stated the two subjects were also spotted on the Cocke County Board Of Education property and were seen going through school buses. Thornton stated that a storage door on one of the buses had been damaged as well as the door knob on the Cocke County High School Softball training building. Thornton also found a cell phone that had been dropped in a school bus. He posted a picture of the phone on social media to attempt to find the owner.
A woman contacted Thornton saying that the phone belonged to her husband, 23 year old Zach Kraft. Kraft was identified by Thornton as one of the two individuals on the property on May 27. As of this time no charges have been filed against Kraft and police have not identified the other individual.
