Cocke County School System To Hold Meeting On Issue Of Inclement Weather Days
With Cocke County schools closed again on Thursday, that adds to the issue of inclement weather days. The county has run out of inclement weather days. The school district is given 10 inclement weather days a year. Seven of those days were used due to the flooding caused by Helene. The snow & cold in January have sent the school system speeding past that allottment of days. The school system could use the Spring Break to make up some of the time missed because of Mother Nature.
The Cocke County School System will be holding a special meeting next week to discuss how to make up these missing days. That meeting will be on Wednesday, January 29 at 6:00 PM at the Professional Development Center.
