Cocke County Schools Receiving Funds
The Cocke County school system is receiving some extra funds. These funds are being provided by the Tennessee Department of Education from Perkins Reserve Grant awards. Cocke County schools will receive $45,101 of $2 million that will be distributed among it and 37 other school districts across the state. This money is to be used in the 2021-22 school year to support career and technical education or CTE. Those CTE programs help give students opportunities to bridge the gap between high school and high paying highly skilled in demand careers. 13 of the school districts receiving funds are in economically distressed counties.
