Cocke County Sheriff’s Department Release More On July 13th Shooting
We are learning more about that shooting in Cocke County last week. According to the Cocke County Sheriff’s department, three men were arrested in that incident. Arrested last Wednesday night were 23 year old Avery Adams, 23 year old Patrick Capers and 21 year old Tywuan Ford. According to the sheriff’s department, deputies were called to the Dollar General in Parrottsville about a white Ford Ranger pickup and a sedan and the subjects in the vehicles were shooting at each other. While enroute to the location, deputy Rodney Hazelwood was flagged down by bystanders at Hux Market. They advised that the subjects had been seen running in a field near Hux Market towards a wooded area. Hazelwood and other deputies spotted three black males running at the edge of the woods towards Cockatiel Way. All three men were apprehended. Morristown K9 and Jefferson County K9 were brought in to search for the weapons, but none were found. Deputies searched the vehicle the three men were using , two bags of suspected heroin totaling 52 grams were found and three bags containing green pills believed to be Oxycodone were found inside….a total of 60 pills. Deputies also found a couple baggies where the men were running after exiting their vehicle…one included marijuana and another had a white powdery substance. So far, Adams and Capers are charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Schedule I and Schedule II drug possession. Ford is charged with Possession of a Schedule I & II drug possession. A fourth person mentioned in the initial report was not identified.
