Cosby Elementary School Gets New Multi-Sport Court and Covered Pavilion
Cosby Elementary School has a new multi-sport court and covered pavilion. That project was thanks to the grant Coby Elementary was awarded last year. To celebrate 100 years in business, Lowe’s chose 100 Hometowns to provide grants of $25,000 to needy communities and Cosby Elementary was one of the 100 chose out of thousands of applications. That money was used to help build a court that can be used for basketball, volleyball or tennis…plus a covered pavilion. The project was basically completed last month but there are finishing touches being done. A $10,000 grant from Shults Family Foundation made through the East Tennessee Foundation will help in those finishing touches like volleyball nets and making the facility wi-fi capable. Students are currently using the court and pavilion. The facility is open to the public for their use during non-school hours.
