Cosby Woman Charged With Selling Drugs
Cocke County deputies seized drugs and a firearm after responding to a possible drug deal in the Hartford area. The sheriff’s office was dispatched to the Amoco Gas Station on Big Creek Road in Hartford late Wednesday night after being tipped off about a possible drug deal involving a white Nissan Maxima happening in the parking lot. That vehicle was found beside the store with a woman identified as 46 year old Amy Norton of Cosby. She smelled of marijuana and admitted the drug was in the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle turned up more than that. Besides the nearly 25 grams of marijuana, deputies found 3 grams of meth and just under 12 grams of fentanyl in powder form. A loaded Walther .22 caliber pistol with 10 rounds was also found in that vehicle. Norton is now charged with schedule I & II possession with intent to sell, seven counts of possession of schedule VI with intent to sell and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
