Counterfeit Cash Reported At CVS
Newport Police are investigating a counterfeit cash case reported at the CVS on Cosby Highway.
Patrolman Hunter Strom says store management reported that on September 4th, a man purchased a $450 prepaid card using fake hundred-dollar bills, then exchanged additional counterfeit bills for cash, totaling about $600.
Some of the bills carried matching serial numbers.
The suspect is described as a Black male, between 25 and 30 years old, with gold front teeth. He was last seen wearing a black Nike raincoat with the hood up, bedazzled denim shorts, and leaving the store in a silver sedan of unknown make and model.
The case remains under investigation.
