Counterfeit Money shows up again

Counterfeit money has been passed again in Newport. Yesterday Newport police responded to a call from the Food City East about two counterfeit $100 bills that were passed at the store on Wednesday. According to the front end manager, just before noon on May 5th…an older gentleman paid for a money order with two counterfeit $100 bills. No video footage was available at the time for the officer to look at.

You might recall a black female was seen passing counterfeit bills at both the Food City East & Food City West a couple weeks ago.
