Dolly Bows Out Of Rock Running
Dolly Parton will not be going into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame after all. Dolly officially announced Monday that she was withdrawing her Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nomination. The East Tennessee native posted that while she was “extremely flattered and grateful” to be nominated, she did not feel that she earned the right to be in the running and did not want votes to be split because of her, so she would respectfully bow out of consideration. The country music hall of famer was first nominated to enter the rock and roll hall at the beginning of February…and Dolly was up to second place just hours after voting began. As of yesterday when she withdrew her name, she was fourth with 281,815 votes. Dolly says she hopes the rock and roll hall of fame will keep her in consideration for future nomination if she is ever worthy of that honor.
