Dolly To Stay On Ballot of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Dolly Parton may be saying no to the rock and roll hall of fame, but the rock and roll hall of fame is saying no to Dolly. Earlier this week, Miss Dolly bowed out of consideration for the rock and roll hall of fame citing that she did not feel worthy of that honor. However, the Rock & Roll Foundation disagrees and will not be removing her name from the ballot. The Foundation said in a statement that in addition to her incredible talent as an artist, her humanity is another reason Dolly is a beloved icon by millions of fans around the world…even if she has never made a rock album. The Rock and Roll Foundation pointed out that rock and roll is not defined by one genre as the format’s inception has roots deep in both rhythm & blues and country music. They closed their statements by sating “We are in awe of Dolly’s brilliant talent and pioneering spirit and are proud to have nominated her for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.” So…dolly stays on the ballot.
