DUI Arrest Leads to Drug Arrest

Police arrested a 61 year old woman for drugs. Tina Smith was found to be under the influence when driving her vehicle that was stopped at the carwash on Hwy 25E. Smith was found to be in possession of an alcoholic beverage and resisted as officers tried to take her into custody for DUI. In Smith’s purse, which was lying on the passenger seat in reach of the driver, officers found several small plastic baggies containing 1.17 grams of what was believed to be methamphetamine. They also found 7 Gabapentin pills which were not in a prescription container, a Suboxone strip, a cut straw with white residue on the clear portion of the mirror. The 61 year old Smith was charged with manufacture, sale or delivery of meth…plus possession of schedule III & V drugs.
