East Tennessee Artscapes In Newport Receives Grant
The arts community in Cocke County received a nice gift from the state of Tennessee. Senator Steve Southerland and Representative Jeremy Faison announced Tuesday that the first in a series of grant awards from the Tennessee Arts Commission for fiscal year 2025 is being awarded to East Tennessee Artscapes in Newport. The grant is in the amount of $54,080. East Tennessee Artscapes is an organization that promotes the arts and creative revitalization of the local economy in Cocke County. They hold workshops during the year for children and adults alike for various forms of art and creativity. Jeremy Faison said in a press release
“East Tennessee Artscapes does an excellent job getting the community engaged in the arts and this significant investment will help them continue doing meaningful work”
The Tennessee Arts Commission is the state arts agency. According to the Executive Director Anne Pope, their mission is to cultivate the arts for the benefit of all Tennesseans and their communities.
