East TN Artscapes To Receive Over Half Of $84K Grant Money
Tennessee State Representative Jeremy Faison announced on Tuesday that arts organizations in Cocke, Jefferson and Hamblen counties will receive $84,250 in state grants to support educational and outreach initiatives. The funding comes from the $12.3 million the Tennessee General Assembly allocated in the 2025-26 budget to support arts initiatives in all 95 Tennessee counties.
Among the recipients include
Boys and Girls Clubs of Dumplin Valley: $18,800
East Tennessee Artscapes in Newport will get : $44,210, which is the most for any organization in the three counties.
Walters State Community College: $4,100
Rep. Faison says arts are an important part of our culture, the education system and the economy. he says this funding ensures local organizations can continue “inspiring creativity and strengthening our communities.”
