Escaped Hancock County Inmate Re-Captured

The manhunt for an escaped inmate in Hancock County is now over. The Hancock County Sheriff’s office says that they took 48 year old Joshua Wayne Metcalf back into custody at around noon on Sunday near Sneedville. Metcalf escaped at around 10am Thursday. His escape leading to Hancock County schools going into lockdown Thursday and cancelling classes on Friday.

Metcalf is facing murder charges for killing his brother. No word on how he escaped from jail Thursday. The TBI had placed Metcalf on their Most Wanted List Friday.
