Fall Rod Run Keeps PFPD Busy
This past weekend Pigeon Forge hosted the Fall Rod Run, the most visited automobile event in the area. While the Rod Run is a fun event for most visitors, it can be a major headache for law enforcement. Nearly 100 people were arrested during this year’s Fall Rod Run, which is more than double the number of arrests, 44, made during the 2023 fall event.
The Pigeon Forge Police Department says that between Thursday September 11th and Monday September 15th, authorities made 96 arrests, answered 1,027 calls for service, issued 702 citations, and there were 33 traffic accidents recorded. The 96 arrests for this event outnumbered those from the previous year when police made 85 arrests during the 2024 fall Rod Run.
The Rod Run has been around for decades, which brings thousands of car enthusiasts to Pigeon Forge and the surrounding area twice a year. Planning for the Spring Rod Run is already underway. It is scheduled for April 16-18th in Pigeon Forge.
