Fatal Fire In Greene County Sunday

A fatal fire in Greene County Sunday. According to Greene County sheriff Wesley Holt, a call came into 911 shortly after 7 am and crews were dispatched to a home on Choctaw Dr. The 911 call came from a woman inside the home who stated that the family dog woke her up barking. When the woman went to investigate, she found smoke coming from the basement area of the home. Occupants of the home were able to evacuate, but could not get into the basement area. That is where firefighters later found the body of 59 year old Daniel Reaves in a basement bedroom. Reaves’ remains were sent to the William L. Jenkins Forensics Center for an autopsy. The cause of that fire is currently under investigation.
