FEMA Updates
FEMA is reminding those who were affected by the flood last September to make sure that FEMA has your latest contact information. According to FEMA any benefits you are eligible for could be delayed if they do not have the current information on how to contact you. A simple way to provide FEMA with missing or new information is to create an account at DisasterAssistance.gov. Of you do not have internet access or need services not available on FEMA’s website, call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362. It is staffed from 7 a.m. to midnight ET, seven days a week.
FEMA also reminds those affected by the flood that the initial application period for the disaster in East Tennessee has closed, but late applications are still being accepted. The deadline to file a late application is coming soon. That deadline is March 7. FEMA has approved more than $29 million in assistance for 7,084 Tennessee individuals and households.
