Former CCHS Coach Charged With Statutory Rape

A former Cocke County High School coach has been charged with statutory rape. According to Cocke County Sheriff CJ Ball, 26 year old Francisco (Franny) Garcia, was arrested earlier today (Monday) following an investigation into a statutory rape case involving a 16-year-old victim. Garcia was taken into custody and charged with 6 counts of Statutory Rape.  Since the case involves a juvenile, due to the sensitive nature of juvenile laws, information about the case is limited. Garcia was an Assistant Football and Wrestling Coach at Cocke County High School. Sheriff Ball says no charges are related to any case involving the student during school hours, or school functions.  Mr. Garcia was arrested without incident today and is being held on a $300,000.00 bond.
