Four Vols Taken In First Day Of MLB Draft
The Major League Baseball Draft kicked off last night in Ft. Worth, Texas, and the Vols Christian Moore was picked in the top 10 and is heading west. Moore, the Vols second baseman for their National Championship team was selected eighth overall by the Los Angeles Angels. He is the highest drafted Tennessee player since 2016 and the highest under the tenure of current coach Tony Vitello.
Three more Vols heard their names called during the opening night of the draft. First baseman Blake Burke was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers 34th overall.
Third baseman Billy Amick was the 60th overall pick by the Minnesota Twins and the Texas Rangers took outfielder and College World Series hero, Dylan Dreiling at #65. Several more Vols are expected to hear their names called during the second day of the draft on Monday.
