They attempted to turn onto a crossover to get over to I-40 East, but that put them in the path of a tractor trailer driving on I-40 West. The tractor trailer struck their ambulance. Jeremy Sutton died at UT Medical Center shortly after arrival, Sarah Brooks was listed in stable condition. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says the accident is still under investigation.
